Asian pigeonwings (Koyal Plant), also known as Aparajita plant and blue pea, is a perennial vine that grows to about 18 feet in length. The flowers of this plant are blue or violet and an upper lip that curls outward. This plant is native to Southeast Asia, specifically India and Sri Lanka. Asian pigeonwings are easy to grow, but they require full sun and warm temperatures to thrive. They should be grown outdoors during the warmer months of spring through fall. In India, it is revered as a holy flower, used in daily puja rituals.
