The cordyline is a tropical plant that grows in the coastal regions of Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. Cordyline plants can grow up to 3 feet tall and spread up to 4 feet wide. The plant has thick branches with large leaves at the top. The leaves are very distinctive: they have a heart-shaped base, but then curl downward at the edges. They come in a wide range of shapes, sizes and colors, and they’re very easy to grow. The dramatic foliage is often spotted with purple, and the variegated leaves add texture and interest to any garden. Cordyline plants are also hardy and grow well in most climates.
