Purple heart plant, also known as the purple secretia plant and Tradescantia pallida, is a beautiful plant that is easy to grow. The plant has an upright growth habit and can reach up to 1 m (3ft) tall. The leaves are pinnate with toothed edges and are green on the top and bottom, while the underside of each leaf is a different shade of purple.
Purple heart plant is an excellent choice for containers or hanging baskets because it requires little maintenance but still produces beautiful flowers that attract pollinators like bees and butterflies. While you may find this plant difficult to propagate if left unplanted in its original container, it can be easily propagated by taking cuttings from healthy plants already growing outside in the garden or elsewhere around your home!
