Anjeer plant (also known as Fig plant in English) is a species of plant that belongs to the genus Syzygium. This genus is referred to as the figs, and the species are known for their fruit, which is usually eaten fresh or used in cooking. The plant can be found throughout Asia and Australia, but its origin is believed to be Africa. The Anjeer plant grows in a large variety of environments and climates; it can be found growing in swamps, mountains, forests and even deserts. The ripe fruit is a large berry or drupe with sweet flesh that can be eaten raw, baked or fried; dried for later use; or preserved in brine for prolonged storage.
