The Euphorbia milii, or the crown of thorns, is a flowering plant native to Madagascar. It is a succulent plant with a fleshy stem and colorful spiny petals that can grow to be up to 2 feet in height. The plant features bright red, yellow and green flowers with white tips on its spiny petals that give it its common name. The plant’s scientific name honors Baron Milius, who introduced the species in France in 1821.
